Yoga and rebirth

You don’t have to die to be reborn. If you’ve had a bad day, week or even a month, hitting the yoga mat is a great way to clear the clutter from your mind and start fresh.

When you make changes in life, big or small, it’s a time of rebirth. Thinking it’s time for a new job? Want to improve your diet or health? Say hello to the new you!

Changing your life is a whole lot easier when you spend some quality time with yourself and your thoughts. Yoga gives you the opportunity to shut down the noise in your mind and work out which habits, values, and thoughts serve you well, and which ones you can toss in the trash.

There are a couple of reasons yoga brings clarity. One is that you’re spending time with yourself, focusing on your thoughts with no distractions (pretty impossible to do when you’re at work or looking after kids). The other is that you’re likely to be breathing properly.

Pranayama, or prana for short, is a form of yoga breathing which literally means “to extend the vital life force”. It also helps to get rid of the old and bring in the new habits, values, and thoughts.

Conscious breathing cleanses and brings more oxygen into your system, making your body run smoothly and efficiently.

The deep breaths of pranayama are renewing and can help you deal with strong emotions. As well as keeping stress and anxiety in check, breathing practices are key to a good night’s sleep.

Every time you visit the yoga mat you have the chance to be reborn, as well as see feel better mentally, physically and emotionally. How wonderful is that?!
